Finally, I had my first working experience in this semester break. Although I just worked for 5 days, I felt meaningful in these days.
My first job, being a YES promoter at PIKOM PC Fair KLCC (15/4-17/4). Actually, I was only a replacement worker. I got a emergency message from the agent because she cheated by the “original” worker. The original promoter did not go to work on the day. In my opinions, that’s also not called as a promoter because there had no target sales, no commission at all and I no need to sell . Furthermore, there were Acer promotion cause you will get YES as a gift after bought Acer laptop and we were no sell any broadband. My job was explained to customers about YES free gift while they were confused and also helped customers to register or installed the YES broadband while they did not know how to do that. (I’m not meant by promoting YES or Acer here) However, a very weird thing happened. At the last day, my YES boss asked us to boost the sell. My brain was stuck with thousand of questions mark at the meantime. “How can we boost the sell? First, we are not selling this broadband. We are only explain it. Second, customers need to buy some selected Acer laptop only can get it”. Well, the question is here, who are going to buy a RM2000++ laptop because of the free gift only costs RM167 (free broadband and a month fee). As an intelligent consumer, we must compare things with different brand. Moreover, this thing will costs us RM2000++. Therefore, we need to boost the sell through the Acer promoter as well. I know the purpose of YES doing this campaign is to let more people try out their broadband, but they only offered free gift for the 3 selected laptop. Why not they offered more Acer’s customers free gift ??!! I know this may increased the budget of these campaign but it may worked !!! I heard some of Acer’s customers comment about it, they wish to try the broadband, but they are bought Desktop or Netbook. Forget about it, that’s not my business anymore. Why I comment about it ?! In this job, I really learnt a lot from my colleagues especially my boss. Really thank you !!! Although you are “fierce”, I really appreciate your taught. And also I felt happy while working in the PC Fair because the job has a lot of thing to complete, you do not have time to do others things. However, my salary only RM50 per day and need to work 10 hours (11am-9pm) need to earlier half an hour arrived and late half an hour back. Do you think worth ??? Actually I love this job because it was busy and I love being busy but not busybody !!! If my agent can great a bit, increase my salary , I will totally 10000% love it !
My second job is also a promoter, and also a replacement worker for u-mobile. Same agent but different colleagues and places. The most happy thing was one of my colleagues is my friend. Perhaps this is a very relax job for everyone, cause you just need to distribute flyers in a shopping complex that not much people. And also offer RM80 per day, the salary more better compare to my previous job. But I found that it is extremely bored for me. I felt time pass through very slow and hard to pass time. The job is totally free, you could sms, talking, stand at there and stare blankly………. I saw a colleague even facebooking while working and the most “wonderful” thing was , he used the laptop that let customers check information to facebooking. I have no comment !!!! However, good things have happened to me as well, cause all my colleagues are just so nice ! They are nice people~
I only learnt one thing in this 2 days job — I can not finish the McDonald lunch !!!
I still left out many french fries… I should go with friends next time so that will not waste the french fries !!!
Furthermore, in this 5 days, I really scared of lunch time…. Because you will felt lonely while one person lunch. It is very very very LONELY feeling !!!! You will feel many pairs of eyes are staring at you because of one person lunch.
